“CONCISE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF PHYTOTHERAPY”

The presentation of the issue impression will take place in the framework of the annual autumn scientific session of the NO PAN (Moscow, on the 22-23th of October, 2010), in which will be held 3 scientific events: 2 theoretical and practical conferences "Traditional medicine and Orthodoxy" (with representatives of the Russian Orthodoxy Church) and "Homeopathy in modern clinical practice" (in the framework of the annual Day of Homeopathy), and also the II-nd Russian Phytotherapeutic Congress. At the same time there will be held an exhibition "Phytotherapy and Homeopathy - 2010".

In the Encyclopedia there are represented the following main parts:
1) The plants (herbs) as the sources of the bioactive substances;
2) The medicinal use of herbs and medicinal agents out of herbal origin with some clinical syndromes;
3) The pharmacodynamics in the stimulation of receptor apparatus localized in different organs and tissues;
4) The main herbs used in traditional and official medicine;
5) The main official preparations on the basis of medicinal herbs.

In a short description of each herb (part 4) there is an indication of its officinality or possibility to be used in practice (in a case if a herb, including food one, is non-officinal). For each item there are numerated the names of the herbal medicinal agents and bioactive food suppliers (with a mentioning of the manufacturers or official distributors) in which the herb itself is included (raw product) or its extract. In the part 5, dedicated to the ready-made production's description, there is given a composition of medicinal agents and indications for use (or forms of pharmaco-therapeutic products).
As a result of that, in the edition there is accumulated knowledge of the qualified phytotherapists, phytopharmacologists, pharmacognosists, phytotechnologists, clinicists-pediatrists, in the field of aetiology, pathogenesis, diseases'' substratum and medical factors of medicinal herbs that are included in the herbal feedstock products and also in the ready-made medicinal agents the book is intended for doctors and pharmacists for whom it will be important, without doubts, in a daily practice and also is very interested for a wide circle of readers interested in the broadening and extending of the knowledge in the field of phytotherapy.
