Composition:
Softovak pulvis for oral administration in bottles by 100 g.
Softovak contains:
Dry extract of buckhorn plantain with oviform leaves (Plantago ovata L.) 40 g,
Dry extract of Indian senna leaves (Cassia angustifolia Vahl.) 15 g,
Dry extract of myrobalan chebula fruit (Terminalia chebula Retz.) 10 g,
Dry extract of fistulous cassia fruit (Cassia fistula L.) 10 g,
Dry extract of bare peavine roots (Glycyrrhyza glabra L.) 5 g,
Dry extract of centifolia dog-rose florets (Rosa centifolia Schrenk.) 5 g,
Dry extract of ordinary fennel fruit (Foeniculum vulgare Mill.) 5 g,
fennel oil 1 g.
Types of action and indications for use:
Spastic and hypokinetic constipation of different etiology of adults and children elder than 5 years;
chronic constipations of expectant mothers and elderly people;
hemorrhoids, irritation of anus mucous membrane, proctitis, anal fissure/ fistula of anus region and rectum (as the auxiliary preparation to stool regulation).
Contra indications and side effects:
Individual intolerance of Softovak components (including hypersensibility in anamnesis); abdominal aches of unclear genesis; acute inflammatory diseases of abdominal cavity, acute appendicitis, peritonitis, introsusception; strangulated hernia; neurogenic constipations; constipations related to endocrine diseases; pancreatic diabetes, gastrointestinal and uterine bleeding; disruption of water-electrolytic exchange; child age up to 5 years.
Apply Softovac carefully at kidney and liver diseases, after abdominal operations.
As a rule Softovak is tolerated well. It is possible of appearance of ache in the down part of stomach (intestinal colic) and dyspepsic disorders (abdominal distension, diarrhea), local allergic response is possible (skin hyperemia, appearance of skin rash, itch).
During the Softovac application the disruption of meal passage is possible without adequate quantity of liquid.
At prolong Softovac application the disruption of water-electrolytic balance is possible.
It is necessary to reduce the dosage of Softovac after appearance of these symptoms.
Posology and method of administration:
Adults apply Softovac by 1-2 tea-spoons (5-10 g.), children elder than 5 years apply by 0,5-1 teaspoon (2,5-5 g.).
Apply Softovac per os in the evening before going to sleep, drinking with enough quantity of warm milk of boiled warm water (150-200 ml.) It is possible to raise the dosage of Softovac after consultation with a physician.
As a rule, the stable treatment effect is achieved applying Softovac for 1 week.
Special remarks and act habit of ingredients:
The effect of Softovac is usually achieved in 10 hours after oral administration.
Herbs, which belong to preparation Softovac, contain anthraglycosides and other biologically active substances. They strengthen the large intestine peristalsis, stimulating sensitive receptors of its mucous membrane, and produce purgative effect. The simultaneous increasing of intestines contents and mucus secretion, decreasing of liquid indraft in intestines lumina contribute to softening and quick removal of dejection under the influence of Softovac.
Softovac also produces antispastic effect, that's why it can be applied as a preparation at constipations against a background of hypertonic dyskinesia of large intestine of elderly people.
Buckhorn decrease liquid indraft to intestines cavity, produces mucoprotective, softening effect, increasing the volume of intestines contents and mucus secretion.
Senna produces soften irritative effect, stimulate receptors of mucous membrane of large intestine, restores evacuative function of intestine, strengthen the peristalsis of large intestine.
Myrobalan chebula regulates intestine's motility, produces anti-inflammatory and cholagogic effect.
Cassia softens intestine masses, stimulates mucus production.
Peavine root produces antispastic effect, reveals anti-inflammatory properties, shows scented component, increases the resistance of mucous membrane.
Dog-rose florets produce anti-inflammatory cholagogic and antacidic effect, show scented component, decrease flatulence.
Fennel produces antacidic effect, decrease meteorism, is effective at hemorrhoids treatment.
Additional information:
It is not recommended to apply Softovac for a long time (more than 2-3 months), because it may produce intestine atony, steady diarrhea and fluid loss.
After Softovac application urine may get yellow-brown or red-lilac color.
The strengthening of manifestations of side effects are possible at overdoses. The immediate stopping of application and timely arrangements on emergency administration (gastric lavage, application of absorbent carbon), symptomatic treatment produce fast elimination of clinical manifestation of overdoses.
