The Korsakov Medal

Korsakov Semen Nikolaevich (1787-1853) - is a contemporary of S.Ganeman, a Russian landowner and a nobleman who did not have any special medical education but was a well-known and respectable homoeopath.

Korsakov has developed:
- a way to keep homoeopathic medicines in sugar grains (so-called "Korsakov's grains");
- a medicine selection method by means of smelling;
- A way of preparation of the homoeopathic medicines, named even in "the way of one test tube" or Korsakov's cultivations. This way is widely used till now in many countries of the world.

Semen Nikolaevich is the pioneer of domestic cybernetics and computer science. He has created five so-called intellectual machines: three types of Homeoscope, "The machine for ideas comparison or Ideaskope", "Comparator" which allows quickly find, compare, and classify a great amount of data records with a help of a set of numerous indicators. The mechanical devices developed by S.N. Korsakov are analogs of modern information-search systems. He has created a database on homoeopathic pharmacology.

Semen Nikolaevich Korsakov - is one of the greatest our compatriots who has greatly impacted on homoeopathy formation and development not only in Russia but also far behind the country.

In his honour, in 2009 "The Korsakov Medal" was founded by the Noncommercial Organization "Professional Association of Naturotherapists" for the valuable contribution to the development of the world homeopathy.
